M11 Health Enterprise Forum

17:30 - 20:00

Harlow Council, Civic Centre, The Water Gardens, Harlow, Essex CM20 1WG
21 February 2018
The M11 Corridor is home to some world-renowned research centres of excellence, a well-established entrepreneurial eco-system to support company formation and growth and a significant amount of R&D space creation to accommodate success. As the cluster grows we are also seeing a diversification of the types of technologies and businesses being formed, driven at least in part by a combination of the convergence of technology and healthcare sectors as we seek increasingly effective and efficient healthcare interventions. This can be a double-edged sword. On the one hand it can attract a more diverse investor base, perhaps looking at the Life Sciences and Healthcare space for the first time after concentrating on technology to date. On the other hand, the complex nature of the sector and navigating a route to market may still deter investors seeing the risk as high. This evening session will hear from three investors, each with different models but all driven by the desire to accelerate innovative new healthcare products and services to the market for the benefit of patients.
