HR Officer

Heptares is a Drug Discovery Company, working on G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) involved in CNS and metabolic diseases.

The company is currently based in Welwyn Garden City and will be relocating to the Cambridge area in July 2018.  It has approximately 100 employees, and has been operating for ten years.  We are now seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated HR Officer, to a new role, working in a small HR team.  Reporting to the Head of HR, this role will provide support across other UK based group companies and for Heptares Zurich.

Key areas of responsibility for the postholder will include:
 
  • To manage and lead assigned areas of HR Operations in a generalist capacity.
  • To create, monitor, review and implement HR policies and process to ensure they are effective; aligned with Company culture and legally compliant.
  • To provide managers and employees with HR advice on all HR matters including performance management, disciplinary and grievance.
  • To provide a pro-active, focussed recruitment service, working with recruiting managers from advertising through to offers of employment.
  • To manage and lead benefits programmes.
  • As a member of the HR team, provide advice on compensation and benefits.
  • To lead/support HR projects and initiatives with the HR Administrator.
  • To act as an advisor and coach to staff and managers.
 
Qualifications and Experience
 
  • CIPD Level 5, Intermediate Certificate, in Human Resource Management.
  • Preferably with an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Significant experience in operating in a Generalist HR and HR Operations capacity ideally in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
  • Familiarity with web-based software for HR administration.

  • Sound analytical skills with the ability to assess/identify and provide solutions to issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, appropriate at all levels of interaction.
  • Numeracy and English language skills (both written and verbal).
  • Coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to manage and lead projects, against deadlines.
