Illumina (EMEA) 12 month product development internship programme.

Are you seeking a company that will offer you rewarding, challenging work and a chance to make a difference? Then you should consider Illumina's iAspire Internship Program. Our mission? To help improve human health by unlocking the power of the genome.
We have established ourselves as the global leader in DNA sequencing and array-based technologies through our focus on innovation, serving customers in the research, clinical and applied markets. We currently facilitate a myriad of processes in the life sciences, oncology, reproductive health, agriculture and other emerging segments.
Each summer, over 100 undergrad, Masters and PhD students embrace these internship roles. No matter your background you are able to take up a position at Illumina; you have the option of positions from the highly technical to the more corporate functions: Finance, Bioinformatics, Engineering, Research & Development, Marketing, and Software, among others. Our 12-month program, iAspire, focuses on meaningful project work, professional and personal development, in addition to providing networking opportunities.

When you join the high-performing team at Illumina, your work takes on new meaning—to an exponential degree. Our growth, our positive culture, and the impact our products are having in the world will ignite the same passion in you that drives our people forward. And together, we accomplish beyond expectations.

Scope of Internship:
Systems Integration is a multidisciplinary group that brings together the subsystems (hardware, software & biochemistry) which comprise DNA sequencing systems and tests them from a customer viewpoint to drive the creation of robust, reliable, easy to use products. The project is an excellent opportunity to work alongside our engineers and scientists, assisting with the development of future sequencing instrumentation and associated biochemistry. This will include hands-on testing and integration of new equipment and reagents, design and executing experiments, data analysis, interpretation and presentation of results, sample and reagent preparation.

The candidate will ideally have a BSc (Chemistry/Biochemistry preferred) but may also be on an undergraduate program with an industry placement. Basic wet laboratory experience is required but full training will be given. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is important alongside excellent written and oral communication skills and the desire to be a part of a fast paced, multidisciplinary and dynamic environment.

Applications are being accepted up to 31st January 2018, with assessment days scheduled for 6th & 7 March 2018.

The Selection Process:
Once your application has been submitted, our dedicated recruitment team will perform an initial review, and then contact shortlisted individuals via telephone, before inviting you to complete a digital, video interview. The culmination of our selection process is for the finalists to attend an all-day assessment centre event at our offices.

Please note reasonable travel and accommodation expenses will be reimbursed to applicants invited to an assessment day.

Please note eligibility to work in the UK is a requirement to participate in the iAspire program.
