HR Administrator

A new opportunity has arisen for a highly organised HR Administrator to join our HR Services team to provide a first-class and customer-focused transactional service to our Institute staff and be the first point of contact for queries concerning processes, procedures, the HR System (CoreHR) and general HR administration.

You will have multiple priorities covering general HR administrative support and look forward to working as part of a busy, close-knit team, having the confidence and enthusiasm to get involved wherever needed. 

Essential Skills:
  • Good experience of providing administration within a busy  environment 
  • Very confident user of IT systems including  using HR Information systems 
  • Good working knowledge of HR best practice: processes, procedures and legal compliance (including Data Protection and Discrimination legislation)  
  • High level interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and multi-task 
  • Experience working with confidential information 
  • Proactive and ‘can do’ attitude 
  • Diplomacy and tact 
  • Ability to work unsupervised 
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with conflicting demands whilst maintaining attention to detail 
  • Comfortable working in changing environments where parameters are unclear 
  • Demonstrates an approachable attitude and a willingness to share information 
  • Is a team player and is supportive of colleagues 
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills 
  • Ability to draw on experience to make sound decisions whilst remaining calm under pressure 
  • Desire to learn

Ideal Skills:

  • Experience delivering a  high quality customer service and administrative support service within an academic and/ or scientific environment 
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Core HR 
  • CIPD Level 3
