Wellcome Genome Campus Hackathon

Monday 2 to Tuesday 3 July 2018

What are we hacking?

We have teamed up with some amazing innovative companies to create this one of a kind event. Each of our partners will pose a challenge for the hackers to take on. Are you ready to work with the likes of ARM, Atos, AstraZeneca, Open Targets, Medicines Discovery Catapult, Sigma, Boston Consulting Group and the postdocs and innovators from the 2pi network and others?

Who should attend?
We are looking for individuals with skills and backgrounds in biodata and genomics as well as those with knowledge and experience of UX design, ethics, engineering, drug development and individuals who may be able to bring a patient's perspective. More than just a hacking event this will be an opportunity for hackers to connect with innovators from across the Cambridge Cluster and create entrepreneurial opportunities for their ideas.

Representatives from the Sanger Institute, EMBL-EBI and other health tech Cambridge companies will be on hand as mentors to help hackers craft their winning pitches or demos of their solutions.

We also plan to give hackers:
  • Prizes from our partners for the best pitch/idea
  • Food vans, beer and incredible snacks…lots of snacks
  • Goodies
  • Mentors to help perfect pitches or demos
  • An inspirational speaker or two to keep energies high
