Breakfast Networking: Recruiting and Retaining Staff in the face of Brexit

Date:
28 February

Many employers are struggling to find the staff they need. What can you do to ensure this situation is not exacerbated after we leave the EU?

EU nationals who are here before 29 March 2019 will be able to stay. But do your employees understand what they will be required to do under the new EU settlement scheme? Do they appreciate that there may be other options available to help them protect their position in the UK? Are you providing them with the appropriate level of support?

After we leave the EU we will have a new immigration system. How will this affect your ability to recruit? What action should you be taking now to prepare?

Described in Legal 500 as “extremely knowledgeable [with] excellent communication skills, makes the process clear and hassle-free”, Clare Hedges, Head of Immigration at Birketts LLP, will provide an update on the latest position and cut through the confusion, providing guidance on what you should be doing now to maximise retention of current staff and mitigate future recruitment risks. We will have time for questions and of course there will be an opportunity to network and share examples of good practice.
