Agenda:

At a time of growth and fast-paced change, it can be difficult to keep on top of the latest VAT developments and how these apply to your business particularly when there are continual changes within the business. We are at a unique moment for the UK VAT system with HMRC’s aspiration to move towards real-time reporting and wider digitisation, and the end of the Brexit transition period, providing an opportunity for indirect taxes to be used to drive sustainability and change, particularly in light of the current economic challenges.

EY’s Indirect Taxes team regularly advises organisations to help them navigate the complexities and challenges of managing indirect tax reporting and compliance and advising on the complex rules and legislation underpinning those reporting requirements.

During this talk EY will cover recent indirect tax changes in the UK including an update on:

•        Changes to HMRC’s policy on interest and what this means for businesses.

•        Latest update on e-invoicing including the current global trends and developments and insight into the steps businesses can take to prepare for the upcoming changes.

•        Export evidence and imports – an overview of some common HMRC challenges and client issues being seen in the market.

•        Sustainability update - the latest on the carbon border adjustment mechanism, extended producer responsibility requirements and plastic packaging tax.

As part of EY’s presentation there will be time available for you to ask questions and talk through any particular challenges or success stories you have encountered yourself.
