Thursday 20th June 2019 - 17:30-20:00

The M11 Corridor is home to some world-renowned research centres of excellence, a well-established entrepreneurial eco-system to support company formation and growth and a significant amount of R&D space creation to accommodate success.

To fully harness the economic and job creation opportunity requires education providers, employers and policy makers to deliver the diverse training and education approach that will deliver a fully skilled labour pool. Introduction of initiatives such as T-level qualifications, increased emphasis on apprenticeships and similar are supercharging the skills agenda, yet this needs efficiently linking to the Higher Education and research outputs and the SME base if we are to enable science entrepreneurs to create and build sustainable, integrated businesses.

This evening session will hear from three experts involved in attracting students into STEM subjects, delivering the learning required and what qualities C-suite employers ultimately look for in recruits
