ESG Reporting – What it Covers and Who Pays Attention?
Registration is now closed for this event but if you would like to attend, please contact jasmin@onenucleus.com.
ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) reporting is playing an increasing role in compliance and branding for life science companies, both public and private. The June 2020 BioWednesday session entitled ‘ESG and Life Science Investment’ revealed a number of key points such as:
- There is currently a lack of clarity and standardisation around what is measured and reported
- Whilst public companies are aware of their obligations, many private companies are not but their investors are paying attention either requesting such audits or assessing prior to investing
- Many private companies are assessed remotely in due diligence of financing, but are unaware they are being assessed since this can be remote and based on eg their website content
- ESG is a great way to demonstrate company values that are increasingly important to retaining and recruiting high quality staff
Lindsey Stewart, CFA, has recently taken up the role of Head of Stakeholder Engagement at the Financial Reporting Council and at this session will discuss what the requirements on ESG reporting are, how they are assessed and how growing private life science companies can improve their ratings. The presentation will be followed by open Q&A on the topic for all attendees.
