Developing your business with University expertise and funding

If you run a business and are looking for new expertise or funding, a partnership with a University may prove to be the answer. This Cambridge Network event will highlight several ways working with a university could benefit your business, whether you’re looking to innovate, design new products or services, discover new expertise, or you’re looking for funding.

This webinar, presented by the Research and Innovation team at Anglia Ruskin University, will give an overview of the many ways they collaborate successfully with businesses of all sizes and sectors. It will cover:

* An introduction to ARU’s expertise across a huge range of disciplines, covering everything from immersive environments to cleantech, logistics to biomedical engineering. Universities are hotbeds of innovation, which businesses can tap into.

* An overview of the national picture, the key areas of focus for UK Government and how to find out more about R&D Tax Relief

* Innovate UK projects – how they work, some current opportunities, a quick outline of the process of submitting a bid and running a project. ARU can help you on your journey to winning Innovate UK funding.

* Hear from Camilla Nichol, CEO of the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust, who has recently secured government innovation funding in partnership with ARU. The project brings together expertise in cultural heritage, 3D visualisation, gaming, storytelling and innovative business models to bring the region and the UKAHT archive to life through VR, reaching new audiences and developing new income streams for the organisation.

* Find out about Knowledge Transfer Partnerships: introduce skills and expertise into your business by taking on a graduate to work on an innovative venture or solve a business challenge. The UK government offers up to 67% funding for KTP projects, which typically last 1-3 years
