We are pleased to announce a new Cambridge Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry (MS) Meeting will be held on Thursday 17th October at 12-5pm on the Babraham Research Campus. This meeting will feature talks, posters, and networking for both academics and companies in and around Cambridge.

Inspired by the format of The London Biological Mass Spectrometry Discussion Group (http://lbmsdg.org/) and organised by the founder of The London Proteomics Discussion Group (www.londonproteomics.co.uk), this meeting will be a gathering of experts, users and prospective users of proteomics and biological MS in and around Cambridge.

Our aim is to build a network that raises the profile of proteomics and MS technologies in Cambridge, while informing and enabling new users to help grow the community.

The meeting is free to attend thanks to our primary sponsor Thermo Fisher Scientific and additional sponsorship from Evosep, MS Wil, and ATG Scientific and support from the British Society for Proteome Research, the Babraham Institute and Babraham Research Campus.

The final programme will be announced closer to the event, which will include talks from leading academic and industry experts and groups in the Cambridge area.

The event will feature:

  • Talks from leading academic and industry experts in the Cambridge area
  • A free lunch, networking refreshments, and pizza in our staff bar after the event
  • An informal poster session
  • The opportunity to meet many other local proteomics/MS scientists and learn about their expertise
  • The chance to help shape the future of these sessions, and potential special interest groups, with in-meeting feedback

Getting to the Babraham Research Campus: See link/map for location and the campus map above for finding the Cambridge Building. There is ample free parking (registration required for campus access) and a bus service (13/X13/13A) that stops nearby.

The venue: The Petersfield Lecture Theatre, Cambridge Building – seats around 200 with a networking area for food, refreshments and posters. There is a staff bar downstairs for networking after the event over pizza and drinks.

Informal poster session: This will be on a first come first served basis with around 20-30 poster boards available (max ~A0 landscape or portrait, 1200mm x 1500mm). There is no need for the work to be particularly recent, just an opportunity to showcase and share any local skills, expertise, or services that might be of interest to the community.

For further information, or to sign up to our mailing list (automatic option upon event registration), please email CambridgeProtMS@gmail.com. We also have a remaining speaker slot and would love to hear from any future sponsors or organisers.
