Associate Principle/ Principle Protein Scientist - Protein Sciences/Structural Biology Part-Time 30 hours or Full Time Option

Established in 2001, Domainex is a privately-owned, rapidly growing drug discovery services company with expertise spanning disease target expression, hit discovery, hit-to-lead identification and lead optimisation.

We have established an excellent reputation for providing high-quality and innovative drug discovery services and have an established track record of delivering preclinical drug candidates for our partners. Our clients include leading universities, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in the UK and overseas.

As a fast-growing technology company, Domainex offers a stimulating environment in which to work. Scientists are encouraged to be innovators, work collaboratively and above all to deliver high quality data and results to our customers.

For all roles, the successful candidate will have good attention to detail and high scientific standards and be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for their chosen discipline and the broader field of drug discovery. As an organisation, Domainex prides itself on providing innovative solutions to challenging problems, requiring a curiosity and desire to seek-out and apply novel and innovative solutions from the wider literature to progress Domainex’s customer projects and enhance our internal capabilities. All roles will require regular interaction with new and existing customers requiring candidates to have well developed communication and inter-personal skills. You will be able to work independently in protein expression (E.coli, insect and/or mammalian), expression optimisation, protein purification optimisation and scale up to multi mg scale for structural analysis, protein QC and protein-ligand crystallisation. You will have demonstratable experience using a range of AKTA chromatography equipment and columns. Experience in crystal manipulation/ freezing, solving protein-ligand X-ray crystal structures independently would be a plus.
