Cerevance is an emerging Biotech harnessing a novel technology platform to deliver life-changing therapeutics for patients with central nervous system diseases. Cerevance is generating unprecedented human CNS expression data sets, from which novel targets are being identified for innovative drug discovery programs. Based on this approach, we have built a strong pipeline, with projects at various development stages, ranging from target validation and hit identification to lead optimization, as well as clinical stage.

About the role:
We are seeking to recruit a motivated scientist to join a small human tissue/neuroanatomy team in our Cambridge facility (Cambridge Science Park).
Responsibilities for this position include tissue banking, tissue processing, sectioning, manual and automated immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization. The successful candidate will be expected to work within the standards required by the Human Tissue Authority (HTA), abide by Laboratory SOPs, and accurately record experimental details in E-Lab notebooks.
In collaboration with team members, the individual will contribute to early research and target validation programs through gene localization assays.

Requirements:
Candidates should have a B.Sc. in a relevant biology related discipline or considerable, relevant laboratory experience. Prior experience with human neuroanatomy and microscopy is desirable but not essential.
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, flexible, possess a strong team ethic, work carefully and respectfully with donor human tissue, and have good interpersonal skills.

The candidate will either be HEP B immunised or prepared to become so upon starting this position.
