Your role in our team:
To execute our ambitious research programmes for uncovering core transcription factor programs that define human cell types, we are looking for highly motivated and skilled scientists to join our growing team. You will become a key player in the delivery of strategic research projects, involved in their design, the analysis of experimental data and subsequent planning of further scientific development. This is an opportunity to join one of the best stem cell reprogramming labs and conduct research with a real-world impact.

Your key responsibilities include:
• Delivering multidisciplinary research programmes contributing to the design and analysis of data from experimental projects
• Develop and maintain internal infrastructure, including the creation of well documented user-friendly tools
• Working collaboratively with experimental and computational biologists, with the support of senior scientists
• Developing new research ideas with the scientific, business and leadership teams
• Contributing to strategic collaborations with key opinion leaders
• Providing technical and scientific expertise by contributing to proposals, meetings, publications and business development activities
• Disseminating Bit Bio’s vision and research to external scientific and lay audiences

Your practical research experience and excellent organisational skills will allow you to work independently, be productive and output driven whilst building efficient and positive collaborations with the wider team.

With essential experience:
• A PhD in an area relevant to computational biology (or equivalent experience), and at least 3 years of experience doing primarily computational biology, ideally in the genomics space (can include time in PhD)
• Solid computational fundamentals including machine learning, algorithms, and data structures
• Proficiency in R and/or python
• Experience analyzing large datasets, including next-generation sequencing data, in high-performance computing environments
• Solid biological knowledge and interest, and familiarity with major biological data resources

… and possibly
• Experience in data analysis of programmed human pluripotent stem cells and/or products of mammalian cell genetic engineering (CRISPR, lentiviral vectors)
• Knowledge of up-to-date molecular biology techniques, haematology and/or immunology
• Experience with version control, and using AWS or other cloud computing platforms for bioinformatics
• Familiarity with gene regulatory networks, mechanisms of gene expression, and developmental biology
• Experience with RNA-seq (bulk and/or single cell), microarrays, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, and/or other genomic technologies
• Experience in industry
