We have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our team. The company’s success depends on the ability to translate disease insights obtained from its technology platform into commercialisable solutions ranging from novel targets, stratification biomarkers, indication extension projects, clinical risk scores and decision support tools.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with data from various sources to add a rigorous analytical dimension to the development of disease and commercial strategy as well as business development activities. The business analyst will also be at ease with working at the interface between the disease biologists and bioinformaticians and the company’s senior management and commercial teams in the UK and US. This will include developing deep knowledge of our products, understanding of customers’ needs, market requirements, data sources and competition.
In addition to excellent analytical skills, the ideal candidate will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide senior management with relevant information for business development and strategy activities.

Responsibilities

• Analysis and integration of multiple business intelligence / science resources to guide strategic decisions for the company
• Identification of unmet needs and external opportunities (new Key Opinion Leaders, new datasets, new assay technologies, academic centres of excellence) of strategic interest to company
• Delivery of written documentation to support research and clearly communicate key findings to internal staff and key external stakeholders
• Tracking of trends and novel scientific developments in the biotech, pharma and healthcare sectors in order to consider opportunities and potential risks for PL and communicate these findings clearly to senior management
• Development of a competitive intelligence framework for PrecisionLife with tracking of competitors and contribution to competitive advantage positioning
• Contribution to business cases for internal development of novel drug targets and indication extension programmes, including the analysis of biotech and pharma pipelines
• Creating and presenting accurate, insightful, impactful and persuasive reports and presentations to support analyses, reporting on project findings and presenting to stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Contributions to business development activities ahead of key partnering events
• Developing and maintaining a detailed knowledge and understanding of the company’s platforms and applications, overall strategic priorities and product development plans

Key Requirements

• BSc, MSc or PhD in a life science subject from a leading university
• Business degree or Masters advantageous
• 2+ years’ relevant experience in business analysis manipulating and analysing data as well as competitive intelligence in biopharma, healthcare or healthcare consulting advantageous
• Understanding of the biotech/pharma industry drug discovery process
• An understanding of precision medicine and the role of multi-omic analysis in the delivery of novel medicines and patient centred healthcare solutions desirable
• Understanding of disease biology/ disease target knowledge advantageous
• Experience working in an agile team and understanding and working cross functionally
• Experience of working with senior management to develop and present summary analyses and business cases desirable
