Compliance Officer

We currently have a full-time vacancy for a Compliance Officer working within the Microbiology department to join an established team of 5 Laboratory Managers. Working hours would be 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday and occasional weekend working may be required.

Skills:

Investigatory skills including root cause analysis utilising techniques such as Ishikawa Diagram, 5 whys and investigative techniques to identify root causes
Good organisational skills
Clear and effective verbal and written communication
Ability to record data accurately
Ability to manage own work
Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure

Responsibilities:

To manage and preform investigations of Non-Conformance Reports, Out of Specifications, Out of Trend, Atypical Results and Customer Complaints within the microbiology department in collaboration with Quality Assurance (QA)
To provide investigations training and mentoring as required within the department
To perform investigations trending, collaborating with the laboratory managers and QA to advise and initiate Corrective and Preventative Actions to correct ongoing issues
To report to the Business Manager – Microbiology and Quality Managers on compliance with quality procedures for work performed in the microbiology department
To collaborate with the microbiology laboratory managers and QA in improving processes and process mapping, including identification of efficiencies within the microbiology department
To assist QA with microbiology Data Integrity Risk Assessments (DIRA)
To assist with client and regulatory audits as required
To communicate with clients including but not limited to: non-conformance issues and improvement actions
To keep up to date with regulatory standards and company SOPs
To work in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and the policies and procedures of our Quality System

Requirements:

Degree in microbiology or relevant experience in an investigatory role
Experience and knowledge in GMP / GLP compliance
Experience of regulatory and clients audits
Knowledge of the MS Office suite and Outlook, Excel

Salary and reward package:

Salary £25,000 – £30,000 depending on qualifications and experience
