DevOps Engineer

The role
Biofidelity is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to help develop platforms for the research, storage and display of diagnostic test data. The candidate will have a key role in architecting and implementing a maintainable and secure system.

Key responsibilities:
- Work with developers and bioinformaticians to deploy and support cloud-based software
- Manage and automate software resources, accounts and processes
- Work with the quality team to develop security policies in compliance with relevant regulations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Clear communicator, with the ability to work across the company including non-technical colleagues (essential)
- ‘Can do’ attitude and willingness to take on responsibility as part of a small team (essential)
- Experience in requirements gathering and development of use-cases, technical specifications and design documentation (desired)

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in building, maintaining and monitoring of secure cloud networking infrastructure (essential)
- Use of infrastructure as code e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, scripting (Python, Bash) and automation (essential)
- Experience with containerisation using Docker, managed orchestration services e.g. Elastic Beanstalk, ECS and/or Kubernetes (essential)
- Provisioning and supporting cloud-based genomics or other HPC resources (desired)
- Administering webapp stacks (e.g. Nginx, Django/Flask), message queues and databases (desired)
- AWS account management and monitoring (desired)
- Knowledge of software development and quality assurance such as ISO 13485, EN 62304, ISO 27001 (desired)
