ELIXIR Project Support Administrator

ELIXIR is seeking an experienced Project Support Administrator to join the dynamic and international team at the ELIXIR Hub in Hinxton, UK. The main purpose of this role is to provide the ELIXIR Project Management Unit (PMU) and in particular the ELIXIR Project Managers, with the support needed for successful delivery of our externally funded projects portfolio of Horizon 2020 and IMI projects.

The post holder will work closely with the ELIXIR Project Managers, the ELIXIR Technical Coordinators and the ELIXIR External Relations team, as well as with colleagues at the 22 national ELIXIR Nodes and other project partners throughout Europe.

The post holder will actively contribute to further development of good project management practice and strong project management capabilities within the ELIXIR Hub and wider ELIXIR organisation.
Your role
The main duties and responsibilities, under ELIXIR Project Managers guidance and supervision, are as follows:

Contribute to ensuring that project deadlines, targets and objectives are successfully achieved by providing support, pro-active management and guidance to work-package leaders and partners;
Contribute to the day-to-day management of project risks and opportunities including project performance indicators and risk register;
Assist the planning and budget processes, assemble and analyse metrics and outcomes, ensure that all reporting requirements are met;
Assist in effectively managing changes in the large consortium;
Effectively and proactively communicate operational outcomes, risks, and ongoing processes to the ELIXIR Project Managers;
Represent ELIXIR, as appropriate, in interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

You have

A University degree, preferably in life sciences, computer science, engineering or another quantitative discipline;
Understanding of project management processes;
Ability to evolve and adapt to the continuous improvement in processes, methodologies and technologies being used by the ELIXIR Hub;
Ability to organise and independently manage delivery within a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment;
Experience in handling deadlines and a heavy workload by actively managing priorities;
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail;
Experience working in a team to deliver exceptional results;
A high level of literacy with excellent verbal and written English;
Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and G Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).

You might also have

Experience in project management of EC (H2020) and IMI (IMI2) grants;
Active certification in Project Management e.g. PMP, Prince, PM2.
