Finance Manager

Health Enterprise East (HEE) is a leading Healthcare Innovation and Technology Consultancy based in Cambridge. We work with a diverse range of clients, including NHS organisations and clinicians, government programmes and industry.

With a growing client base and a successful 16-year track record in health technology innovation, we are now seeking a talented Finance Manager to join our friendly and growing team.

You will have responsibility for all areas of finance including preparation of management accounts, forecast modelling and reporting to the wider team and board. You will work closely with the senior leadership team and part-time CFO in driving the performance of the business. While the role is initially 30hrs per week, more hours may be available as the business grows.

The postholder will report to the HEE Chief Executive and part-time consultant CFO. Whilst some of the work is transactional, this role is actually quite commercial in nature and your review and analysis of business performance will form a part of the decision making at board level.

Skills and Experience

Strong technical and analytical skills are of paramount importance as is experience of working within a commercial environment. You will have a strong base in all aspects of management accounting, preparation of annual budgets and forecast models. A sound working knowledge of Sage 50 and excellent modelling and Excel skills would be highly desirable.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparation of monthly management accounts (incl. KPI analysis)
Preparation and review of budgets and bimonthly forecast reporting with support from the CFO
Working closely with the senior leadership team to drive performance of business
Preparation of bimonthly reports and attendance at Finance Committee and Board meetings
Production of annual statutory accounts and liaison with auditors
Corporate tax and VAT returns
To be successful in securing this exciting position, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) and will have significant experience of working at senior finance level. This is a client facing role requiring strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

This may be an excellent role for someone who wishes to work part time including in a hybrid working from home model.
