Human iPSC Gene Engineering Scientists

Cambridge, UK - Full Time
Multiple vacancies, junior and senior levels

Empyrean Therapeutics, headquartered at the Babraham Research Campus in Cambridge, is using
cutting edge gene-editing technologies and stem cell programming to develop genetically
modified autologous and allogeneic cell therapies for the treatment of cancer and other diseases.
With Intima Bioscience, we are focused on translating these cell therapies in active clinical trials
for curative intent in solid tumor cancer (www.intimabioscience.com).
We have multiple openings for scientists at all graduate levels, focused on developing novel and
innovative off-the-shelf cell therapy platforms and investigating new gene targets and modalities
for the genetic engineering of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC).
This is an ideal opportunity for anyone wanting to apply their knowledge of stem cell engineering
to grow new research programs as part of a dynamic team and work with global partners to
translate therapeutic platforms to the clinic.
Core skills required:
• Practical knowledge and experience in iPSC handling, cloning and differentiation
• Experience with gene editing and CRISPR is an advantage
• Strong molecular biology skills and a good understanding of genetics and gene regulation
• Strong mammalian cell culture experience
• Skilled in experimental design and troubleshooting
• Good organisational ability to plan and prioritise work
You will manage all aspects of the project, planning and performing experiments to test new
ideas, generate engineered cell lines and generate key data to published results and drive projects
forward. You will be PhD educated or have equivalent experience, ideally with additional
experience within a leading academic institute or equivalent biotech.
Successful candidates will need to be highly motivated, driven, team players with excellent
communication skills, attention to detail and record keeping. We offer an exciting and fast-paced
working environment as a well-funded and rapidly growing start-up, competitive salary and full
benefits.
