Job title: Research Scientist – Target validation biologist, ref #1907-02

Cerevance is a pharmaceutical company harnessing a novel technology platform to deliver life-changing therapeutics for patients. Focused on neurological diseases, our strengths include a pipeline of novel discovery and clinical-stage compounds, as well as a proven team (for more information, see www.cerevance.com). Our UK research operation is seeking to appoint multiple Research Scientists based in our Cambridge UK facility (Cambridge Science Park). As part of the in vitro pharmacology and target validation teams, these roles will focus on the provision of biological data to support target selection, assay development and compound screening for advancing drug discovery projects.

Candidates should have a wide-ranging expertise in cell and molecular biology techniques and experience of supporting target validation in cellular systems. Extensive experience of native and recombinant mammalian cell culture and previous experience in designing and using a variety of knock down / knock in technologies (i.e. RNAi, CRISPR etc) is required. Therapeutic knowledge within a neuroscience related field is desirable but not essential.

We expect candidates to be highly motivated, flexible and organised scientists with the ability to multi-task. Good interpersonal skills and a strong team ethic is essential as you will be integrated in a highly multidisciplinary drug discovery environment. Applicants should have a B.Sc. in a relevant biology related discipline, in addition to considerable laboratory expertise. Cerevance offers competitive salary and benefits packages.
