Manufacturing Laboratory Technician

Biocrucible is developing a class-leading molecular diagnostic platform based on its proprietary isothermal nucleic acid amplification technology. This platform has the potential to offer rapid results with PCR-like levels of sensitivity and specificity but in a fully-disposable format usable by both consumers at home and also in low-resource environments. The acquisition by Sapphiros in July 2021 has provided further investment and operational support to accelerate this next-generation platform to market.

We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician at our Chesterford Research Park site. In this role you will be responsible for the routine manufacturing and ongoing laboratory project work developing and optimising in vitro diagnostic assays using isothermal amplification.

The role will include preparing buffers and solutions, protein expression and protein purification, preparing lyophilisation formulations and manufacturing lyophilised beads. You will perform thermogravimetric analysis and manufacture lateral flow test strips. You will do this at the same time as contributing to the effective running of the laboratory including equipment maintenance and performing stock checks.
Someone with a Biochemistry or Molecular Biology background and some laboratory experience through vocation or study will be the ideal candidate. You will perform the role within our Quality Management System so familiarity with this kind of environment is beneficial though not essential.
