4basebio is an innovative gene synthesis company with the ambition to provide high quality, synthetic DNA for use in gene therapies and gene vaccines. This is a disruptive technology with tremendous potential. The company is growing rapidly, and is establishing a GMP manufacturing and process development hub at our site north of Cambridge, UK to facilitate the scaling and optimisation of our proprietary DNA manufacturing process. We are looking for dynamic and experienced team members to help us achieve our ambitions and goals.
Responsibilities:
• Leading a small team of process development scientists and technicians
• Lead and manage the process development for transfer to manufacturing
• Liaising with the quality team and incorporate recommendations into process design
• Oversee experimental design and data analysis of team members
• Actively participate and contribute to laboratory and company meetings
• Maintain an accurate and complete record of laboratory work performed
• To use and maintain company equipment in accordance to the company’s SOPs and health & safety guidelines
• To undertake any other appropriate roles and responsibilities that reasonably fall within the role holder’s skills and experience as requested
• Be prepared to travel to other 4basebio sites
Person Specification:
• Experience leading projects and/ or teams in process development of Nucleic acid or biologics synthesis and purification
• PhD Degree/ equivalent experience in Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering/ Biochemistry
• Familiarity with lab’ scale Nucleic acid/ Protein Purification, e.g. AKTA platform, crossflow filtration
• Experience in Design of Experiments
