Research Associate - Biology

Isomerase is an innovative, growing biotechnology company based at Chesterford Research Park near Cambridge, UK. It was founded in 2012 and has particular expertise in synthetic biology, bioengineering and the discovery and development of the next generation of microbial natural products and peptides. The Company is growing rapidly and has recently moved into a new HQ facility in Cambridge. As part of this exciting phase of growth, we are also looking to recruit a talented and enthusiastic Research Associate to join our biology team.

As a lab-based biologist, your duties will include carrying out synthetic biology techniques, small scale bacterial/fungal fermentations and analysis of secondary metabolite production. You should possess a relevant science degree or MSc, and have worked in a laboratory environment. Practical experience of standard molecular/synthetic biology techniques is essential. An understanding and previous experience with biosynthetic engineering, fermentation and culturing a range of microbial strains would be advantageous.

The successful candidates will possess excellent communication and reporting skills, enjoy working as part of a team and should be keen to develop new techniques and methodologies.
