Are you a collaborative individual looking to bring your experience to an academic publishing environment?

The Reviews Editor will have a passion for cancer research and be responsible for driving forward the commissioning, content management and strategic development of the British Journal of Cancer (BCJ)

BJC is an international journal that publishes research describing significant advances in clinical and translational cancer research. It also publishes high-quality reviews and thought-provoking comment on all aspects of cancer research so our Reviews Editor plays an important role in BJC’s communication with the scientific and medical communities.

Identify opportunities for BJC to better serve the Journal’s cancer research community audience by staying up-to-date with the latest news and innovations in cancer research
Commission reviews in line with the strategic priorities of BJC
Maintain strong working relationships with the Editor in Chief, Managing Editor and Editorial Assistants
Commission editorials, news and research highlights in translational and clinical cancer research
Support BJC’s online presence through the website and assistance with social media channels

BJC publishes research across all cancer types and has a particular focus on metastasis, microenvironment, metabolism, immunology and immunotherapy, targeted and next-generation therapeutics, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, mechanisms of resistance, clinical trials, epidemiology, genomics and precision medicine, epigenomics and state-of-the art diagnostic approaches.

To join us in the role we are looking for an individual with…

A PhD or equivalent in a biomedical discipline
Prior experience in scientific, technical and/or medical publishing
Strategic mindset and experience of making decisions in line with strategic priorities
An understanding of the cancer research field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
