Scientific Leader / Associate Director in Cancer Biology (drug discovery - small molecules)

Location: Poland (Krakow)

Together with fast growing biotech company based in Poland, we are looking for established scientists who are eager to run research in molecular biology / cancer biology field for drug discovery and development purposes in oncology (solid and liquid tumors) from target validation through clinical investigation. You will be part of research unit contributing to design and implementation of oncology research. Your leadership skills will help talented scientists work on drug discovery programs.

The position will require competencies related to both laboratory work as well as conducting R&D projects with small molecules. The ideal Individual has a solid multidisciplinary experience in the oncology research.

Responsibilities:

• Leading biology research to successful projects completion in terms of goals, timelines, cost and quality and supporting the discovery (target validation) and development of novel oncology therapeutics, from initiation through early clinical development
• Development of research strategies, research implementation, data integrity and quality, and critical analysis and interpretation
• Presenting results internally and externally, including publications and participation in symposia, conferences and business and scientific contacts
• Collaboration with scientists of other specialties in multidisciplinary drug development projects
• Responsibility for the supervision, performance, motivation and development of the research team

Requirements:

• PhD degree in molecular biology or related
• Strong experience as a Scientific Leader or senior scientist in the cancer field (preferably working with small molecules). Experience in hematooncology would be a clear advantage.
• Understanding of bioinformatics through previous experience or cooperation with bioinformaticians (e.g. NGS, big data)
• Experience in validation and qualification of analytical methods and biomarker development would be an advantage
• Experience working with small molecule compounds and understanding of basic pharmacology
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills;
• Fluency in English.
