Your role in our team:
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our expanding Bioinformatics team. You will be joining a highly collaborative team of computational biologists with diverse skill sets who work together to lead decisions and analysis in discovery and characterisation of reprogrammed cell lines.

This is an opportunity to join one of the best stem cell reprogramming start-ups and conduct research with a real-world impact.

Your key responsibilities will include:
Working collaboratively with the wider computational biology team and experimental stem cell scientists.
Contributing to the design and execution of our ambitious research programmes for uncovering core transcriptional programs that define human cell types.
Performing computational analyses and reporting of results in the area of transcriptomics and genomics.
Development and deployment of tools to facilitate data interpretation by laboratory scientists.

You…
Have a PhD in Computational Biology or a related field with a strong Bioinformatics (genomics/transcriptomics) component.
Enjoy tackling research challenges through critical thinking, scientific rigour and inventiveness.
Are detail-oriented with strong organisational skills for tracking data and recording downstream analysis.
Enjoy working in a dynamic team environment and are comfortable working to tight timelines and managing workload and priorities.

With essential experience in...
Analysis and interpretation of transcriptomic (bulk and/or single cell RNAseq) data
or large high-throughput genome sequencing datasets (including WGS, ATACseq, WGBS)
or functional genomics datasets.
Good knowledge of bioinformatics tools, resources and public databases.
Proficient in R and/or python.
Working knowledge of statistical approaches in data science.
Ability to clearly communicate requirements for and results of bioinformatics analyses to wet lab biologists.
Solid biological knowledge and interest, and familiarity with laboratory experimental design.

Gene regulatory network modelling.
Bioinformatic app development.
Working knowledge of workflow managers such as Nextflow.
Experience with version control.
