Iontas and FairJourney Biologics combined operation consists of over 100 scientists providing antibody discovery and engineering services to partners worldwide, with a proven track record of over 500 completed projects, in partnership with over 100 leading biotech and pharma companies. We continue through the Technology Unit to develop novel platforms and solutions to support the Discovery and Engineering of novel biotherapeutics and extend the range of services offered to our partners. The opportunity to join Iontas as Team Leader of the technology Unit has arisen. The Role
We are seeking a highly capable and enthusiastic Scientist Team Leader to join the Technology Unit at our new South Cambridgeshire site. You will contribute to the identification and development of ground-breaking technologies and platforms for antibody identification and optimization. Your responsibilities will include the management of technology programs and mentoring of the technology team, providing technical training where required, to ensure high-quality and efficient delivery. You will be an expert in antibody discovery with a track record in technology advancements. The successful candidate will also be responsible for designing experiments, data analysis and interpretation, establishing communication and presenting at meetings.
Candidate profile

The most important characteristics we seek for this role is strong focus on technology evaluation, development and delivery, an enthusiastic outlook, and an established ability to work in a laboratory and team environment.
• A Ph.D level scientist with post-doctoral experience (or at least 5 years relevant experience)
• In-depth understanding of, and extensive experience of molecular biology and cellular biology skills and techniques
• In-depth understanding of, and experience in in vitro display bases technology (e.g. phage, yeast display) and in vivo based antibody discovery approaches (e.g. single B-cell)
• Excellent communication, line management, and organisational skills
• Proficient written communication, including scientific papers and patents
• The ability to plan and execute to clear timelines and to prioritise tasks
• The ability to work independently and actively collaborate within and across teams

Familiarity with any of the following would be an advantage:
• Immunology
• Bioassays
• NGS pipelines
• Microfluidics system
• Any other experience relevant to antibody discovery & engineering
