Sosei Heptares has approximately 145 employees based at its new R&D research facility at Granta Park.

Position

We have opportunities for experienced medicinal chemists to join our medicinal chemistry team as Senior Scientists among our permanent staff.
For the right candidates, the roles provide an excellent opportunity to join an industry-leading drug discovery company and to impact research projects in our unique environment of structurally enabled GPCR drug discovery.
Requirements

We are seeking candidates whose profile will include:
• A minimum 2.1 degree (or equivalent), a PhD in Organic Chemistry preferable but not essential
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry - working in small molecule drug discovery projects
• A demonstrable track record of impact on drug discovery projects, through both molecule design and synthesis
• High level understanding of organic synthesis and ability to apply such understanding in a practical setting
• Understanding and application of state-of-the-art medicinal chemistry practice
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability for lateral thinking.
• Enthusiasm and motivation for drug discovery
• Highly effective working in team environments and ability to work effectively independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated capability to operate in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in written reports, in English.
