A well-established biotech is looking for a protein chemist to join the team working on purification methods for antibody drug conjugate and bioconjugates.
Location: Cambridge
Full Time - 37.5 hours/week

You will join the team as an Associate Scientist or Scientist to support projects on bioconjugations and develop purification methods for antibody drug conjugate bioconjugates.
You will have a background in protein biochemistry with strong laboratory skills and previous experience of protein chemistry in an industrial setting.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Execute bioconjugation experiments
• Complete conjugation of small molecules and polymers to antibodies and proteins using linker chemistries
• Carry out purification of antibody and protein conjugates by column chromatography using automated systems (AKTA) and membrane ultrafiltration (TFF)
• Characterise antibody and protein conjugates using analytical chromatography techniques, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, microfluidics (CE-SDS, iCEF) and LC-MS
• Perform routine interpretation, reports and presentation of results

SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry / Protein Biochemistry or related discipline (E)
• 2 years’ experience in an industrial environment, or PhD in a relevant discipline (D)
• Expertise in column chromatography (HIC, SEC, IEX), membrane ultrafiltration, AKTA, microfluidics and LC-MS (E)
• Ability to work to procedures and quality standards (E)
• Working independently and as part of a team (E)
• Knowledge or experience of synthetic organic chemistry (D)
• Serum stability assays and formulation development studies (D)
