University Partnerships Associate - Life Sciences

University Partnerships Associate (internally known as Business Development Associate)

Closing date: Wednesday 23rd October

Location: Stratford, London

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £30-£40k dependent on experience

Ximbio is the world’s largest non-profit technology transfer organisation dedicated exclusively to research reagents. Ximbio forms part of Cancer Research UK, the world’s largest independent cancer research funding organisation, which funds research in excess of £450M annually. Ximbio is part of Cancer Research UK’s Commercial Partnerships team (formerly Cancer Research Technology) where it has partnered with and commercialises the research reagents of more than 70 universities, technology transfer offices and research organisations worldwide.

Our mission is to make research reagents such as mouse models, cell lines, antibodies, small molecules, proteins, etc. developed in academia around the world easily available to researchers and life since companies to accelerate research. Ximbio is based in London with a satellite office in Boston, USA, with plans to expand further.

The Business Development Associate is an entry level role in technology transfer and would be ideal for a life science graduate, ideally with a PhD or relevant experience, to be involved with finding, assessing, managing and helping to commercialise new research reagents from around the world to build and develop a unique repository of novel and rare reagents. The successful candidate will have a range of responsibilities which would include working with a rapidly growing number of key research organisations to on-board their research reagents for onward commercialisation.

We are a close, sociable, team of 11 (in the UK) and have ambitious growth plans, so we're likely to grow significantly over the next few years. We're a very ambitious, hard working team, but we always make sure to leave some time spare to socialise. We often get together for lunch or drinks after work and take part in fundraising events such as dressing up in tutus for bucket collections on World Cancer Day, black tie collar boxing and abseiling.

If this describes you, you can enjoy a great career with us as, together, we bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
