Research Scientist, In Vitro Pharmacology (REF# 2108)

About the role: As part of the In Vitro Pharmacology team, the successful candidate will develop cell-based assays of different types and perform routine compound testing to support various drug discovery projects. The responsibilities will encompass cell culture (maintenance and clonal cell line generation), assay development, compound screening, data processing and upload into the Dotmatics database, as well as data presentation in meetings.
Requirements: Candidates should have at least a B.Sc. in a relevant biology related discipline or considerable, relevant laboratory experience. The successful candidate will have experience in developing and running robust microplate screening assays (96/384-well), such as luminescence/fluorescence-based techniques to monitor changes in ion flux (e.g. calcium, potassium), membrane potential and cellular signalling pathways. Knowledge and experience of working with ion channels and automated electrophysiology platforms is highly advantageous.
