Role description:

We seek to hire a highly motivated senior research associate to join the microbial engineering division at Colorifix. The role will be to support the team in the assembly of colour pathways and strain engineering through to dye characterisation on the fabric.

Skills should include experience in: synthetic biology / molecular microbiology, DNA assembly, bacterial growth curves, PCR and molecular microbiology (bacteria and / or yeast). Experience of the genetic manipulation of bacteria, bioinformatics or automation would be advantageous but not essential. Candidates with a working knowledge of electronic notebooks and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) will be at an advantage, but training will also be provided.

Reports to: Head of Microbial Engineering
Location: Norwich Research Park, Norwich

Qualifications: BSc/MSc (or equivalent) in synthetic biology or a relevant subject and 3+ years of relevant laboratory experience.

Remuneration: Annual salary of £30,000-35,000, depending on level of experience.
