Senior Research Associate-Cell Line Development

Laboratory Solutions are working with a rapidly expanding biotech based in Cambridge who have a Global reach in the US and they are looking to expand their Cell Line Development team. If you are a Research Associate looking to move up to a Senior Research Associate level then check out the job spec below-

Responsibilities:

  • Perform stable cell line development projects in a timely manner.

Each project includes construction of expression vectors, transfections, selection of clones, extensive mammalian cell culture, cryopreservation and cell line clonality 

  • Data analysis and data recording in electronic lab notebook to insure full traceability 
  • Quantification of recombinant proteins
  • Writing working instructions and technical reports
  • Prepare presentations and communicate the results to the team
  • Liaise and coordinate CLD projects with Process Development and Process Analytical groups
  • Optimize, evaluate and implement novel methods and technologies for process improvement
  • Participate at laboratory tasks as maintenance of equipment, ordering 
  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug, GxP compliance, where applicable

 
Qualifications:

  • MSc in molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry or related discipline with a few years of relevant preferably industry experience 
  • Molecular biology skills (PCR, vector construction, Northern blot) 
  • Practical knowledge of working with mammalian cell culture techniques 
  • Practical experience in developing stable cell lines is a bonus
  • Experience with automation in cell culture and product analysis (FACS, Octet, Biacore) is highly desirable

  • Good communication skills and ability to share experience with others
