Analytical Research Scientist

Isomerase Therapeutics is a drug discovery and development company & CRO based in Cambridge, UK, with particular expertise in the discovery and development of optimised microbial natural products and peptides.

We are looking to recruit a detail-driven analytical chemist, with significant experience of LCMS method development and analysis. The successful applicant will possess a PhD in analytical, biological or natural products chemistry or equivalent industrial experience and they will be able to demonstrate being the lead analyst on a project.

As a key member of the scientific team in an expanding biotech company, you will play an important role in developing the next generation of natural product-based therapeutics and other small molecules. The role will involve the analysis of biological samples across a wide range of projects including microbial natural products, biocatalysis products, peptides and drug metabolites from a variety of biological matrices.

This lab-based role will focus on analytical chemistry and preparative chromatography. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled at small molecule characterisation and purification. Experience of LCMS routine maintenance and/or NMR spectroscopy and interpretation would be an advantage.

You should possess a passion for analytical chemistry, exemplified through PhD studies (or similar experience) with a strong emphasis on LCMS of small molecules, natural products or other biological analytes.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and reporting skills, enjoy working as part of a team and should be keen to develop new techniques and methodologies.
