Finland’s oldest Turku is a vibrant life science community with great expertise in drug development and diagnostics.
About 75% of Finnish pharmaceutical export and more than 50% of Finnish in vitro diagnostics export comes from Turku region. Finnish companies are the originators of 22 drugs in the market and 21 out of them have come from Turku. In the diagnostic sector, the Turku-based companies are world leaders in e.g. genetic screening of neonatals, and cardiac markers. No wonder why Turku is called the Life Science Capital of Finland.
A business delegation of 11 companies with great expertise in oncology, immunology, infectious diseases, in-silico screening, and drug delivery is visiting Cambridge on May 18th.
