Join One Nucleus for a Building Life Science Adventures SIG roundtable breakfast to discuss the future skills challenges and opportunities in the life sciences sector and how they could be embraced.

The session follows on from an earlier roundtable of R&D life science company executives, educators and policy-related experts held in collaboration with the Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce where the outcomes of a discussion entitled “The Future of Skills for Life Sciences in Cambridgeshire” suggested key areas to address when training life scientists. This included enhancing commercial awareness, improve competencies in areas such as project management and knowledge of regulatory requirements in drug development. These areas not only help scientists develop additional skills but also create career opportunities for those interested in science who do not wish to work as lab scientists.

There was a concern that our ecosystem lacked depth in skills and talent in these related areas. To address this, this session will bring together a diverse group, including professionals from non-R&D life science companies, neighboring knowledge-intensive sectors, and education. The goal is to explore strategies for developing non-lab-based skills and increasing career awareness. By doing so, we aim to bridge skill gaps across multiple sectors and create a recruitment pool tailored to the multi-sector ecosystem in which we operate.

Agenda to follow soon.
