Objectives

Based on real-world experience, you will be immersed in the realities of Drug Discovery. The course is a ‘one-stop-shop’ outlining the major scientific approaches that have evolved for successful drug discovery, including: Drug Discovery Biology/Molecular Biology, ADMET, Medicinal Chemistry and Informatics / AI / Virtual technologies. You travel step-by-step along a typical multi-step drug discovery path, from the initiating Idea to finally selecting a high-potential drug for transfer to the Pre-Clinical and Clinical Development Teams. 
 
The unique terminology of Drug Discovery is explained and how commercial, patenting and ethical imperatives mould the discovery process outlined. The course focuses on small molecule drugs with comparisons made with biologics throughout.
