We are looking for a Commercial Finance Business Partner (Financial Control Lead) to join our Finance team in a flexible job share arrangement. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance leader to play a key role in financial reporting, governance, planning, and control while working collaboratively within a supportive and flexible working structure.

Why this role matters

As the Financial Control Lead, you will take ownership of the organisation’s financial reporting integrity and control environment. You will lead on management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, audit coordination, and governance, ensuring all financial outputs are accurate, timely, and compliant.

Working closely with the CFO and Commercial Lead, you will provide forward-looking financial insight and act as the final sign-off owner for key financial outputs.

What you’ll be doing

Financial Reporting & Control
Oversee preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts
Review and approve key financial outputs before CFO review
Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and complete
Maintain strong balance sheet controls and reconciliations
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasting processes
Oversee cashflow forecasting and financial planning
Provide financial insight, analysis, and risk identification
Audit & Governance
Lead finance support for external audit activity
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and governance frameworks
Support reporting to the Audit Committee
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Provide oversight and technical support to the Management Accountant and Assistant Management Accountant

Review reconciliations, journals, and reporting outputs
Work collaboratively with the Commercial Lead to align financial performance and commercial insight

What you’ll bring

We are looking for someone who:
Is a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Has strong experience in financial control and management reporting as well as leading budgeting and forecasting processes
Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and governance awareness
Is confident managing audit and compliance requirements
Can build strong working relationships across teams
