Why attend?
India is the world’s fastest-growing major economy. It is in a sustained period of strong growth, powered by a young demography, a growing middle class, and economic reform – moving India up the World Bank Ease of Doing Business rankings from 130 to 77 in two years. In the century of Asia, India matters to the UK more than ever. India is the UK’s 16th largest bilateral trading partner, and our 19th largest export destination. A recent article by Her Excellency Ruchi Ghanashyam estimated that UK companies have invested around £40 billion in India since 2000. We also share the ‘Living Bridge’ of countless personal and professional ties between our nations and there are significant opportunities for trade and research and innovation partnerships, especially with such a young tech-savvy population. DIT India has 15 priority sectors – with validated opportunities in almost all segments. We will attempt wherever possible to tailor the Roadshow toward sectors that are of interest to businesses attending the Roadshow.
