This role is a chance to help shape our translational strategy and directly influence key programme decisions in a fast-moving biotech environment.

What you will do

You’ll lead and deliver translational strategy across multiple programmes, working closely with Discovery Biology, Data Science and (as we progress) Clinical and Regulatory colleagues. Day-to-day, you will:

• Define biomarker and target engagement plans from discovery through early clinical development (mechanism, target engagement, proof-of-biology, stratification).
• Design fit-for-purpose translational studies using human biospecimens and relevant disease biology to enable selection of the right patient populations.
• Develop and commission assays (e.g., immunoassays, cellular assays, flow cytometry; omics-enabled approaches where appropriate).
• Partner with PK modelers to use preclinical PK/PD to predict human doses and therapeutic window assumptions.
• Input into the design of clinical studies that can demonstrate target engagement and pharmacodynamic effects in the right patient and with early efficacy signals.
• Contribute to regulatory filings including drafting translational sections and study reports for IND/CTA packages.
• Work effectively with external partners (academia, clinical collaborators, CROs, specialist laboratories) to deliver assays and analyses.
• Communicate results clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders; contribute to abstracts, posters, and publications when aligned to company strategy.
• Help build translational capability across the company (ways of working, scientific rigour, mentoring/support as needed).
