Life science has become a networked industry. As companies grow, capital often scales faster than internal teams, while the capability that matters most – from commercial expertise and manufacturing to regulatory knowledge and international access - increasingly sits with partners rather than on the payroll.
So what does that mean for leadership?
Join Executive Ventures, Lonza and Freeths for an evening in central London during Jefferies Healthcare Conference, bringing together a high concentration of investors, growth companies, and leaders from across the life science ecosystem to explore the human capital of growth; and how growth companies build the capability they need as they scale without building everything in-house.
4:00–6:00 PM | Piccadilly Pitching Circus 🎪
We’ll kick off with a fast-paced pitching session bringing together selected growth companies and investors in small, rotating groups.
Companies will have the opportunity to pitch directly to investors, while the format creates space for more informal conversations between meetings.
6:00–8:00 PM | Report Launch, Panel & Networking
We’ll then come together for the launch of a new Executive Ventures report on the Human Capital of Growth, presented by Carolina Ragnerstam, CEO of Executive Ventures.
This will be followed by a panel discussion which will look at how growth companies access the expertise, networks and strategic capabilities required to move from scientific potential to commercial scale, and what leaders should be thinking about before capability becomes a bottleneck.
Drawing on insights from Lonza's experience in drug development and manufacturing, Freeths' expertise in supporting life sciences companies through legal and commercial challenges, BioReperia's perspective as a growing biotech innovator, and Claris Ventures' perspective as a venture investor backing early-stage life sciences companies, the panel will explore how organisations can build the capabilities needed to accelerate growth and achieve long-term success.
Moderated by Bita Sehat, Partner at Trill Impact Ventures and Chairwoman at Executive Ventures.
