One Nucleus is a not-for-profit Life Sciences & Healthcare membership organisation headquartered in Cambridge. We support those institutions, companies and individuals undertaking or supporting activity leading to the development of innovative medicines and health technologies.
Role: The Assistant Accountant is responsible for:
• Timely and accurate preparation and processing using the One Nucleus CRM, Microsoft Word and Excel, Sage Line 50 accounting software and e-commerce facility;
• Reviewing new member applications and invoicing and record keeping associated with membership renewals;
• All aspects of credit control;
• Completing month end control account reconciliations, accruals, deferred income, prepayments, fixed assets and month end adjustments
• Financial aspects of event setup on the CRM for online registration;
• Assisting COO eg with budgeting, variance analysis, preparation of year end audit file, 1-2-1 conference partnering app, HMRC reporting, office management and review of legal agreements;
• Working closely with the COO, CRM Systems Manager and the Accounts Assistant on the development of reports and associated exception reporting with appropriate follow up
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following attributes:
•Strong team player
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially during the renewals process for members
•Strong organisational/self-management skills/attention to detail
•Ability to use initiative and to work both with and without supervision
•Proven experience of accounts processing and credit control
•Ability to complete month end control account reconciliations and journals including those for fixed assets, accruals and prepayments
•Proficient user of Word, Excel, accounting software and databases
•Willingness to expand existing abilities
Salary: £32,000-£35,000 pa (pro rata), depending upon experience.
