Bioinformatician

Your role
EMBL-EBI Mouse Informatics is looking for a junior bioinformatician to build off recent successes in developing a cancer model platform within the NIH funded PDX Finder project (http://pdxfinder.org) (see Conte et al Nucleic Acids Research, Jan 2019). The PDX Finder team harmonises, analyses and helps disseminate the rich Omic and phenotypical data from Patient derived Xenograft (PDX) models to advance cancer research by adhering to the FAIR data principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). Towards this goal, we are looking for a bioinformatician who will broker the submission of cancer Omic data to the established molecular archives at EMBL-EBI including the European Nucleotide Archive and European Genome-phenome Archive. You will work closely with other members of the Molecular Archive cluster in contributing to a data submission pipeline and with members of the PDX Finder team in the bioinformatic analysis of the archived data. This opportunity will provide the candidate unfettered access to unique datasets with direct relevance to human health while taking part in global collaborations and publishing in top-tier journals.

Demonstrated skillset and experience in working in Bioinformatics
Good communication skills, ability to work as part of a team of people with a range of skills and a diversity of backgrounds
