Bioinformatics Scientist (4263)

Job Overview:
You will join a growing research team within this innovative and expanding company. Your primary responsibilities will be to support bioinformatics projects in the pre-clinical and discovery spaces (particularly CRISPR analyses) but can also include clinical and translational projects as required.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Application of bioinformatic tools and techniques to answer scientific questions for cross-organisational efforts spanning discovery biology, translational and clinical domains.
Primary, secondary and integrative analyses of internal and external CRISPR datasets using internal pipelines. Execute and develop data visualisation and reporting tools.
Analysis of internal and external cell panel drug sensitivity screens; application of statistical and AI/ML methods to associate with molecular phenotypes.
Testing, benchmarking and implementation of innovative bioinformatics techniques.
Curation and management of internal and external data resources.

Qualifications/Experience:

Essential:
PhD in bioinformatics/computational biology or equivalent experience. Masters candidates with extensive relevant experience will also be considered
Significant experience in statistical programming, data manipulation, analysis, visualisation and reporting using R/Bioconductor
Experience and familiarity with data from high throughput platforms such as next generation sequencing
Ability to work independently in an organised and methodical fashion

Desirable:
Understanding of genomic and other omic data generation
Experience of working in command line environments
Experience of working with cancer patient and/or cell line ‘omics data e.g. from TCGA, ICGC, DepMap
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work to deadlines
