Our client is a highly successful and rapidly expanding end to end service CDMO with operations and commercial offices across the US, EU and China.
The Director of Business Development will now focus on supporting and expanding the existing Small Molecules business with GSK & AZ and building out relationships with other large pharma customers. The BD Director will have experience in identifying commercial opportunities in Drug Discovery, Development, Manufacturing and supply in pharmaceutical companies. An understanding of the science focus of the business is required for communicating the company’s technology to potential clients.
The role demands good scientific credentials, qualifications ideally in Life Sciences to PhD level and ideally in Organic Chemistry. The role requires a good understanding of the challenges and processes for advanced drug discovery and development/ manufacturing.
An in-depth understanding of the pharmaceuticals sector is required and prior experience of business development in the CDMO context is ideally sought; A track record of doing businesses within GSK is advantageous.
The role holder will have an Entrepreneur way of thinking, be self-motivated with unrivalled drive and energy, with a readiness to take on tough challenges, Demonstrated first-class intercultural communication ability is essential. Willingness to travel when allow is essential.
