This is an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our business to support our extensive partnering activities. Reporting to our SVP of Alliance Management, you will be responsible for establishing partnerships with biopharma companies seeking novel drug discovery programs; incremental revenue opportunities associated with indication extension, and patient stratification biomarkers to reduce costs and maximise patient outcomes in clinical trial and product launch.
You will be comfortable working in an outward facing business development role for a dynamic data driven precision medicine company. Ideally you will be experienced with strategic selling, or technology transfer and licensing, into the biotech and pharmaceutical business development environments. You will be able to understand and accurately present complex products and be keen to develop their understanding of how PrecisionLife solutions might fit a potential partner’s needs. You will be organised, as being process focussed and paying attention to timely communication and feedback will be key to success in this role.
Responsibilities
• Plan and develop potential partner lists as part of a team and key account plans
• Correspond with and provide material to potential partners to effect meeting planning, follow up and confidential disclosures
• Plan and participate in business development discussions and conferences; with appropriate follow up
• Update the CRM with partner discussions and next steps
• Liaise with senior BD, alliance management & PM team to deliver project proposals to potential partners
• Feedback to internal stakeholders on potential partner’s needs / new product ideas
• Contribute to development of presentation and communication material for use in potential partner discussions
• Project manage review and execution of legal documents in collaboration with senior BD and alliance management team
• Participate in internal PrecisionLife teams to develop Business Development and marketing strategies across all PrecisionLife asset classes
• Any other duties as required by the Management team
Key Requirements
• Technical sales or business development background from CRO, pharma, biotech or similar
• Experience in customer communication
• MSc or similar in scientific or technical discipline
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical drug discovery and drug development processes
• Willingness to travel (10-20%)
• Proficient in use of MS Office and CRM systems
