Greenfield Opportunity - Help shape and design the future of Biocair’s Business Intelligence landscape!

As a BI Developer you will be required to create and manage BI and analytics solutions across all business functions to identify and validate KPIs and identify areas for both efficiency improvements and commercial opportunities using data and insights that turn data into knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Working with stakeholders you will design and produce effective reporting tools and environments that deliver specified outcomes and requirements.
• Develop solutions to extract data from the central sources in a format as requested by business stakeholders.
• Help us to develop and, where it exists, fine tune existing reporting to ensure it is kept accurate and fit for purpose.
• Monitor the usage of the reporting systems (both formal and informal) and make adjustments as necessary, e.g., updating old reports and removing any that are no longer required.
• Work with the wider Transformation team on automation and efficiency initiatives.
• Help identify improvements that may lead to new commercial opportunities.
• Work with project teams to productionise any data or reporting requirements at the start, throughout or at the end of projects.

Thought Leadership and Knowledge Sharing
• Coach stakeholders and their teams to ensure they have the appropriate skills and knowledge to drive the business forward.
• Maintain a focus on industry trends and technologies to best support us as an organisation.
• Support the process of continuous improvement with the aim to reduce cost, improve quality and increase efficiency.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Have a broad understanding of BI Development techniques and approaches, specifically covering the areas below.

Essential:

• Proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist and the ability to understand and find appropriate applications for data and analysis results.
• Experience of building a greenfield data warehouse with experience of Azure Data Warehouse or Power BI highly desirable, Tableau, Cognos TM1
• Designing data warehouses (e.g., dimensional modeling) and data mining is essential.
• Evaluating and improving existing BI systems.
• Collaborating with teams to integrate systems.
• Translating business needs into technical specifications.
• Designing, building and deploying BI solutions (e.g., reporting tools).
• Maintaining and supporting data analytics platforms (e.g., MicroStrategy).
• Creating tools to store data (e.g., OLAP cubes using SSAS).
• ETL techniques, Data Visualisation methods and master data management
• Conducting unit testing and troubleshooting.
• Creating visualizations and reports for requested projects.
• Developing and updating appropriate technical documentation.
• Database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) frameworks.
• Automating reports for users to ‘self-serve’

Knowledge of:
• Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Business Intelligence technical solutions
• Statistical analysis techniques including predictive analytics.
• Software development lifecycle
• An understanding of how data connects together to form relationships and know how this can be used to find problems and solutions is critical.
• System savvy, quickly understanding the core elements within our bespoke ERP and Web platforms

Academics/Academic Qualifications:
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
• Extensive demonstrated experience in a BI Development or Data Scientist role
