The Congenica product presents all the information that a Clinical Scientist needs to investigate the genomic evidence of rare diseases. A key aspect of the system is the UI that selects from the extremely large volumes of data associated with a genome sample, combines it with complex reference data and displays it to the user in an easy to access fashion.
Job Purpose
The role is to take ownership of the UI and design and develop it so that it can present additional sources of scientific information as they become available, improving usability and performance and developing the architecture to support our demanding use cases.
Main Responsibilities
• Design, code and unit test new product features and enhancements.
• Fix bugs raised by customers and internal teams.
• Set a good standard of development procedures for other developers to follow.
• Review code written by other members of the team.
• Develop subject matter expertise in one or more areas of the system.
• Take a technical lead role for one or more features.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• 5+ years of experience working with React or other JS frameworks
• Expert knowledge of JavaScript/ES6+
• Strong knowledge of modern ES6+ single page application development and surrounding best practices
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs
• Medical / biological knowledge or interest
• Ability to provide architectural solutions
• Ability to contribute to UX and UI design
• Experience of supporting and coaching junior staff Related Experience
• Commercial experience working on ES6+ single page applications using React, Angular, Ember or similar libraries/frameworks Behavioural Qualities
