We have a fantastic opportunity for a Data Scientist to join our Data Science team. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working as a quantitative researcher identifying novel correlations within large and complex life science and healthcare datasets. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in creating insight and value from complex data, and a passion for identifying and answering questions that help us solve real-world problems and build the best products.
Responsibilities
• Working on core analytical platforms, improving performance and pushing edge-case boundaries
• Developing new computational tools and algorithms for diverse datasets in complex disease analysis
• Delving into new and existing sets to explain and explore data composition, structure and sparsity
• Driving the collection, cleaning and verification of new data and the refinement of existing data sources
• Collaborating to design and develop new tools and products to put powerful decision support interfaces in the hands of end-users
• Analyzing, interpreting and communicating the results of product experiments
• Working closely with bioinformaticians, product designers and engineers to identify and answer important product questions
Key Requirements
• MS. or Ph.D. in a relevant technical field, or 4+ years’ experience in a relevant role
• Experience with developing (in addition to applying) computational tools and algorithms in the fields of bioinformatics, healthcare or other related field
• Experience with Python (including numpy, sklearn), R and visualization techniques
• Knowledge of statistics (ideally bio-statistics), data clustering techniques and graph analysis
• Ability to solve analytical problems using quantitative approaches
Nice to have:
• Familiarity with relational databases & SQL and/or non-SQL systems such as MongoDB/OrientDB/Redis/Aerospike would be a strong advantage
• Experience working with large data sets and systems such as AWS Cloud would be a plus
• Experience with Natural Language Processing would be a plus
• Knowledge of bioinformatics and chemoinformatics resources and techniques
